To promote maybe their service like “we can install it for you without the void of the warranty” but like… in what aspect is my swap different?

No probs bro. In the last 2 years I have been using Linux for the reasons that I said before

but like why do you have to use windows for 2 years? that’s what i don’t get, why not just use linux if you like it?

i doubt if windows 11 even works on pentium 🙁

Bypassing TPM and secure boot 😏

K11M1 2022-08-11 13:38:39
there is answer to such question
K11M1 2022-08-11 13:39:18
ItsMeDavi92 2022-08-11 12:51:27
Sure. I bought an Acer aspire 3 a315-58 with windows 11, I can see the difference. Windows consumes lot of battery, I imagine that Linux consumes more less. 2 years of warranty. On 2024 I’ll immediately replace Windows with Linux

Why not use linux now and wait for 2024?

In order to keep safe my laptop warranty

why would using the laptop void the warranty? what state bullshit is this?

K11M1 2022-08-11 13:42:00
installing system cannot void the warranty in any way. you get warranty for the hardware

People have told me otherwise

K11M1 2022-08-11 13:43:12
they want to rip you off then
K11M1 2022-08-11 13:43:35
and in any case, if really your shop is that retarded, you can just put windows back on it
K11M1 2022-08-11 13:44:06
and if they need the junk ware they put there, just make a windows bitcopy and use that in case of need to use the warranty
ItsMeDavi92 2022-08-11 13:44:38

Or making a dual boot

ItsMeDavi92 2022-08-11 13:44:46
512 GB of ssd
K11M1 2022-08-11 13:45:11
well if dualboot is ok, then just purging it is ok too. dualboot as as big change than installing linux

You say step by step I’ll kill Windows 😂

K11M1 2022-08-11 13:47:04
well i have been told the same bullshit with windows and even with android phone (running custom rom). i guess in phones it kinda makes sense, but when we (at my company) do some repairs in warranty, we just take all the disks out of it because it has out data anyway and there is no need for them to have the disks
K11M1 2022-08-11 13:47:09
they can do the same with laptop
K11M1 2022-08-11 13:47:23
even changing disks in the laptop should not void the warranty
K11M1 2022-08-11 13:47:44
but idk about that… i mean if you don’t damage the thing you have problems with, and it is normal disk, why not
ItsMeDavi92 2022-08-11 13:49:02
Great speach, I agree to pienk. But about SSD change I’m sure that warranty is invalidated
K11M1 2022-08-11 13:50:56
i don’t see a reason for the invalidation with disk swap, sure if you put wrong disk there. i get it
K11M1 2022-08-11 13:51:22
but then why do shops sell separated disks for laptop if it will void the warranty? 😀

if you want to be on the safe side, do the bitbackup

K11M1 2022-08-11 13:52:24
(you can erase big files if you have done any to keep the backup small as possible)
K11M1 2022-08-11 13:52:41
i think the tool in windows is still called “Windows 7 backup”
