Anybody else using arch?

I literally just did an update & this happened.

I cannot boot into my os.

It literally flashes a small white bar in the corner of my screen then reboots into BIOS.

how’s the arch live usb coming along

I updated it

will my system boot now or not

just remember to grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg && grub-install –efi-directory=/boot/efi

or whatever your efi directory may be

I have this version of grub. I am just scared that new version of grub wont boot. is this ok?

Do I only need that 1 partition or do I need the swap & ext4?

one efi partition for bios and boot process filesystem must be fat32.
at least one partition for the rest of the system, filesystem could be ext4, btrfs, …

Installing kali is the problem

Most of the tools included in Kali require root to run which is not recommended for a day to day operating system. Due to the purpose of Kali (mentioned above) you may have issues while installing some applications or features that you require on a daily basis. And they (devs of kali) officially accept this and do not recommend it for daily usage. Though it’s good for peeps who are learning hacking and are absolute beginners. And for pro hackers, they know which distro they’re supposed to use (personally with my experience on ethical hacking, arch is better as a pro but not at all as a beginner. Btw I use arch.
