Hello guys, so I created two virtual machines; Kali and windows, in an experiment to replicate the CVE-2017-8464 vulnerability attack on windows 7 using the Kali system.
Before I started, I needed to make sure both systems could communicate so I created two different nat network configuration for them and I tried pinging them, one from the other.
Windows 7 successfully pinged Kali, but Kali pinging windows 7 was unsuccessful.
In the Kali, it appeared that it had problems using the network and pinging windows or Google returned the message of domain name not resolved or something like that if the address wasn’t IP and network unsuccessful if the address was IP.
What might be the issue?
Something to know too is that during Kali machine setup using iso in virtualbox, automatic network configuration is always unsuccessful and I get told to continue with manual network configuration.
But I used the Kali virtualbox disk file for the virtual machine.
