The difference is how they use the data, and how much crap they shove down your throat WHILE you do the search. Not only does DDG the search engine clearly state what’s ads, that’s IF they even show ads in the search at all.

Been using them for a while now after finding how much of a search filter google had made for me.

The only time there’s been a major issue wasn’t even the engine itself, it was the app that was having issues.
