Uh, usually you can telnet to that port. If available. Otherwise an app can do this. Like ping utils or something

telnet says it cant find the route to host
ayyetism_luv 2022-09-16 21:17:22

telnet says it cant find the route to host
Then it would seem the port not accessible remotely…
Elvis Presley 2022-09-16 21:20:58
I think locally on the computer it uses Unix sockets instead. Remotely, it uses the ip:port
Elvis Presley 2022-09-16 21:24:30
On the computer locally do a netstat -l -t
Elvis Presley 2022-09-16 21:24:39
It’ll show you if it’s listening on the port

i dont have netstat but ss -tup says that there are 2 connections
ayyetism_luv 2022-09-16 21:27:59
1 on 127.0.0.1:http-alt and 2 on my-ip:http-alt
ayyetism_luv 2022-09-16 21:28:13
both tcp connections
ayyetism_luv 2022-09-16 21:28:21
grepped unix sockets but found nothing
