Proving theorems and postulates can be science

there are no physical experiments involved in Mathematics, unlike Physics and other sciences

proving theorem is logic and abstract thinking. not science

the scientific method is basically an extension of the kantian epistemological idea of knowledge acquired through synthetic a priori reasoning

Science is: 1. the use of scientific method based on data gained from experimentation.
2. Using scientific method to create theories that explains natural phenomenons.
In math, theorems are logically proven, they have no relation to natural phenomenons happening in this universe. there are alot of renowned mathematicians that consider Mathematics as an Art, not a science. but the topic is still debatable

And you use analysis in science to prove a hypothesis aka theory.

there are multiple ways to acquire knowledge, but mainly it boils down to two sets: knowledge you acquire through reasoning, and knowledge you acquire through your senses

there’s also a notion of when we acquire the knowledge. you can know something will happen, even before it happened, or you can learn it happened after seeing it

science orignally just meant knowledge, btw

being able to sum together weights through the usage of arithmetics, and thus know whether it’s too heavy or not sounds like knowing stuff to me

although there’s generally a split between mathematics and science: mathematics is analytical, science is synthetical
