I mean isn’t psychology a science?

i don’t think it’s right to reduce science to the scientific method

thomas kuhn would claim that the scientific method is eventually gonna disappear

I mean isn’t psychology a science?

i have no clear definition of science which by to answer that

smol_mazunki 2022-09-18 07:25:27
does psychology aim to seek understanding of the mind and the person, and their relationship to the real world? pretty sure yes
Fuseteam 2022-09-18 07:25:29
Tch he didn’t fall for it

I would say too :p

then again i do believe psychology is mostly a practice, meaning that they mostly learn how to treat people and give advice

smol_mazunki 2022-09-18 07:26:51
the end goal is not to research, but to provide therapy

which i wouldn’t consider science

Tch he didn’t fall for it

after all i study philosophy

i use they/them btw

That’s the same with all doctors i suppose

Depends on what kind of psychology is it

agree

smol_mazunki 2022-09-18 07:29:42
same applies to engineers
