It is installed, thanks. I just am stupid so I can t connect it to the Engrampa or to install 7zip destkop on Xubuntu. Omg 😀

if tar supports it then any archive manager installed will open it
cryptodanvr 2022-09-19 23:37:14
and by default your file manager should

It is not compressed (archived), I need to do that, ok I will see yhis link throoughly.
cryptodanvr 2022-09-19 23:39:42

David Emartisyan 2022-09-19 23:40:27
EDIT: Don t read, this is a mistake.
tar cvf – drive-download-20220918T190849Z-001.zip
tar: Refusing to write archive contents to terminal (missing -f option?)
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

Oh, I don t have a compressed lz4 file, I need to do that. Thanks! 🙂 But, I dunno how to do that with GUI program like Engrampa File Manager or 7zip (because I am dumb enough so I am now searching how to install 7zip with GUI on Linux – Xubuntu)
cryptodanvr 2022-09-19 23:43:15
your file is allready compressed
cryptodanvr 2022-09-19 23:43:35
so your command wont work
cryptodanvr 2022-09-19 23:44:39
to create a new file with new contents for your compression you would need to decompress it then add more files then recompress using zip if you want a zip file

Yes, my mistake was, I did a proper command sucessfully, but the size of the folder is the same. I am new to this, sorry for the chaos.
Yes, I ll do that right now. But still I need GUI tool to compress lz4. I will post a screenshot of the Engrampa Archive Manager – lz4 is not listed there although it is all installed in the terminal with that search command.
cryptodanvr 2022-09-19 23:48:33
You can use the commandline

lz4 man page – General Commands | ManKier –
Mankierlz4 is an extremely fast lossless compression algorithm, based on byte-aligned LZ77 family of compression scheme.

I know, but I don t want to, that s the issue. I want it enabled in any archiving/compressing/decompressing tool.

Thanks… 🙂

your dash is in the wrong place.
David Emartisyan 2022-09-20 00:40:47
Yes, you were right that lz4 should have been automatically added to a Engrampa Archive Manager – but it wasn t. The only thing automatically added was .7z and some .7z related stuff after I ve installed that.
It must be a bug.
I am now trying to see how to add that .lz4 to engrampa.

I need some help. I want to copy my system image, but can’t find where it’s located. Anybody know a simple terminal command to locate my system image?

Hey, yes, it was an error, I wrote it and edited it down there.
Regarding .lz4 it is the opposite of what I need actually. The speed is the best, but the compression is the worst. I need the best compression so it can all fit to my drive.
Engrampa – if anyone has it, go deinstall it. xD That stuff is weird, it even doesn t want to get updated so I am using some old old version. BTW, thanks @phractured_c

Did you create one with a drive backup tool?

How did you create your drive image?

No, right now I’m just trying to locate the file.

No, right now I’m just trying to locate the file.
Then you need to use clonezilla or dd to create it.
Michael 2022-09-20 01:17:34
OK. Thanx
cryptodanvr 2022-09-20 01:18:16
And if you want a full dusk image you’ll need to do a bit for bit copy.
Michael 2022-09-20 01:19:11
My problem is I need a command to find the path to the file.

There is no path until you create the file
Michael 2022-09-20 01:21:02
Okk thanx. Well, where is the image then?
cryptodanvr 2022-09-20 01:21:12
